No Compromise^_™ Renewable Alternatives

While our industrial synthetic biology platform gives us the ability to produce a broad range of high value compounds, Amyris is focused on the development of products that will have a positive impact on our planet. We first applied our technology to develop semi-synthetic artemisinin, a key ingredient in first-line malaria treatments. Amyris is now focused on cost competitive products that serve as renewable alternatives to consumer products and industrial applications currently dependent on petrochemicals.

Our first commercialization efforts have been focused on a molecule called farnesene, which forms the basis for not only transportation fuels such as diesel, but also a variety of chemicals including surfactants, emollients, flavors and fragrances, and industrial and automotive oils and lubricants. We call these No Compromise™ products because we design them to perform comparably to or better than the products they will replace.
