Research Technician, HTS

We are seeking a Research Technician to support our High Throughput Screening group. The successful candidate will flourish in a medium sized start-up environment and enjoy working as part of a research team.

Responsibilities:

As a Research Technician in our high throughput screening group, you will be a member of a team generating and evaluating strains of microbes producing fuels and “green” chemicals from biomass. Specific responsibilities include preparation of reagents, tracking and processing of samples, operation of robotics and performing assays.

Requirements:

• B.S. degree in molecular biology, biochemistry, biophysics or a related discipline or AA with relevant experience
• Energetic, well-trained, and self-motivated individual
• Work schedule will be Sunday through Thursday. In general, must embrace and prefer a variable work schedule based on work flow needs.
• Able and willing to learn and implement novel experimental techniques
• Exquisitely attentive to detail
• Must have a passion for science and engineering
• Previous experience with high throughput screening and automation is highly desirable
• Strong analytical, organizational, and multi-tasking skills
• Requires good teamwork and communication skills
• Flexible and able to work efficiently and productively in a start-up company environment.
• Proficiency with Excel
• Comfortable with analysis of large data sets

Experience with the following a plus:

• Experience working with yeast and bacteria a plus
